Applying
The following list outlines the steps to applying to Community Independent School:

• Call the school to schedule a visit.
• Complete an application and return it with the application fee.
• Have the current teacher or childcare provider fill out a teacher recommendation (pre k/k or elementary) form and have them submit it to CIS.
• Once these materials have been received, you will be contacted to schedule an interview and student observation at CIS.
• If accepted, submit the completed enrollment contract with accompanying fee(s).

We consider each application individually with family and input from previous teachers. Community Independent School accepts students whose educational needs can be met in our setting. It is our hope that the staff and families composing the school community mirror the diversity of the community in which we live. Acceptance to the school is in no way based on race, religion, gender, handicapping conditions or economic status. We welcome families in all their diversity.

Tuition, Fees & Deposits

Enrollment Fee
Families agree to pay a one-time enrollment fee per child of $800.

Tuition Deposit
Community Independent School requires a non-refundable tuition deposit of $500. This deposit must accompany the Enrollment Contract and will be applied to the student's final tuition payment of the 2008-09 year on April 1, 2009. The tuition deposit secures a space for each child in the school, and ensures that the school has a commitment from each family.

Tuition
The 2008/09 tuition rates are as follows:
Preschool Half-Day: $5859 (M-F 8:10-12)
Preschool Full-Day: $10,253 (M-F 8:10-2:45)
Pre K/K: $10,253 (M-F 8:10-2:45)
Elementary: $8,875 (M-F 8:10-3)
Afterschool: $3,241 (M-F 2:45-5:30)
Early drop off available for Pre K through elementary age students starting at 7:45 M-F.

Annual Tuition Payment Schedule
Community Independent School offers a flexible 10-month installment payment plan from July 1- April 1.

Tuition Assistance
CIS does provide tuition assistance to new and returning families. To assist families in setting realistic
expectations for assistance, the following policies have been adopted by the Board of Directors so as many
families as possible can benefit from the limited funds available.
• New awards will be made based on financial need up to $2000
• Awards to siblings of students currently receiving financial aid will be made based on financial need up
to $1500
• Awards are available for all ages

Tuition Assistance forms are available at the CIS Office or you may download them online at
https://sss.ets.org/pfsHome.do. The code number for CIS is 1932. Deadline for submitting the form is March 1.
