Application Process

Steps to Apply:
The following list outlines the steps to applying to Community Independent School:

• Contact the school to schedule a tour, and meet with the Admissions Director.
• Complete the Application for enrollment and return it with the $40 application fee.
• The Admissions Director will schedule an appointment and arrange a time for your child to visit the school for a classroom observation and assessment.
• Upon acceptance, submit the completed enrollment contract, the one time enrollment fee ($800) and the nonrefundable tuition deposit ($500) to secure a space in the program.

2010/11 Tuition and Fees

Enrollment Fee
This one time, $800 fee, due when signing an Enrollment Contract, applies only to new families.

Tuition Deposit
Community Independent School requires a non-refundable tuition deposit of $500. This deposit must accompany the Enrollment Contract and will be applied to the student's final tuition payment of the 10-11 year on April 1, 2011. The tuition deposit secures a space for each child in the school, and ensures that the school has a commitment from each family.

Annual Tuition Payment Options
Tuition may be paid in one annual payment, semi-annually, or through a 10-month installment payment plan payable from July 1 to April 1.

the 2010-2011 tuition rates are as follows:
Preschool: half day until noon, $6,152, full day till 2:45, $10,561.
Pre K/K: $10,561
Elementary: $9,319
Afterschool: $2,748

Annual Tuition Payment Schedule
Community Independent School offers a flexible 10-month installment payment plan from July 1- April 1.

Financial Aid Application Process

The following information is provided to assist you with your tuition assistance application for the upcoming school year.  Please complete the following steps:

• Complete and return the CIS application form to:

• Complete the online tuition aid application from Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS).  This form must be completed and submitted by the application deadline.
• Attach your tax form to the CIS application only if the tax form you provided to TADS was for the prior tax year.
• Application submission DEADLINES:     
  • February 6th for returning students
  • February20th for new students

Any forms received after the February deadlines will be considered in the second round if funds are remaining after the first round.  All families, including families currently receiving tuition assistance, must follow this protocol.  Continuation of tuition assistance is not guaranteed and must be applied for each year.  All information submitted with this application is confidential.

To assist families in this process and to set up realistic expectations for tuition assistance, the following policies have been adopted by the board so as many families as possible can benefit from the program.

• Awards will be made based on financial need. Awards are generally between the $2000 - $1500 ranges.  
• All families have access to our tuition discount program, except as follows:
• Part-time early school students
• Current families who are not current on their obligations to the school and have a history of late payments or have not made arrangements with the Executive Director.
• Application for tuition assistance does not affect decisions regarding enrollment.
